Company History & Technological Milestones

Learn how we rose from humble beginnings in Cuba to become one of the most trusted and groundbreaking names in healthcare technology.

  • 1935

    In Cuba, Saul Diaz Sr. launches his new company to connect healthcare providers with medical supplies.

  • 1965

    The company finds a new home in Miami, and the next generation of the Diaz family refocuses our business on diagnostic imaging technology.

  • 1967

    Med-Lab (now Centella) is named a Siemens Healthineer Advanced Partner.

  • 1969

    The first and third Siemens Healthineer Siregraph Remote-controlled R/F systems are installed in the United States by Med-Lab (now Centella).

  • 1984

    We help design and prepare the MRI building at Mr. Sinai Medical Center, including both RF cages and magnets. At the time, this was just the third Siemens MRI system in the United States.

  • 2020

    In 2020, we installed the first Bi-plane Icono with the Corundum Robot in the United States at Baptist/Boca Raton Regional.

  • 2024

    Med-Lab rebrands to Centella and expands its services to include Healthcare Technology Solutions in a move designed to help their customers access comprehensive solutions to meet their ever-evolving technology needs.

  • Today

    With the fourth generation at the helm, Centella remains committed to helping partners source the most advanced and customer-tailored healthcare technology solutions.
